Thanks for tipping your readers off to this book! My husband and I are leftist civil rights lawyers but know the conservative Christian homeschooling movement intimately. My sister has homeschooled five children in a conservative Christian setting for over twenty years. I echo much of what K. Roose found. There's much to say about wholesome living and its effect on human beings. My sister's two grown kids, both daughters, have recently branched out from the political and religious dogma they were raised by to decide for themselves about the meaning of their deeply held values. They are remarkable and lovely people! I look forward to buying this book and passing it around for our family to read.
