It is nice to know that the mid-afternoon slump is a perfectly natural feeling. Coping with it during a normal work day is quite the challenge, though. The 8:00-10:00 p.m. slot makes so much sense, but makes one wonder how many organizations would not exist (and is that so terrible?) if people stayed home at night.

I found the link to this article from the NY Times article about insomnia. I just quit smoking and had serious withdrawal, including depression, anxiety, insomnia and fatigue. I did not want to use doctor prescribed pharmaceuticals, so I opted for an herbal/ natural cessation program. It worked for a while (the 5-HTP, melatonin and alpha lipoic acid) along with exercise and a better diet. I'm trying to ween myself off of the supplements and get back to a normal sleep pattern. Thanks for these tips! I'll be certain to bookmark this site for future reference.
